The first time I saw Pantera dance my jaw just about hit the floor. And this was the DVD, from all the way back in early 2004 I think, that brought my attention to a spinning pole.
(When I worked the clubs there were only stationary ones.)
First was her beautiful black tribal tattoo work from head to foot. Awesomeness.
Then I paid more attention to her dancing. It took me a moment to realize the pole was rotating and I couldn’t believe the strength she had; I intuitively knew how much more demanding the rotation would put on those moves long before I got on a rotating pole.
Anyways, in a nutshell this DVD is an absolute must for the serious pole devotee.
It is not for beginners. It is absolutely not for beginners. Did I say it’s absolutely not for beginners?!
It’s not even for experienced dancers. Seriously, she’s in a class all her own and this is just plain inspiration for most pole dancers.
Then when you’re ready for it, get lessons directly from Pantera via Skype. I think that’s the coolest thing ever.
Way beyond my abilities at the creaky jointed age of 45 but I’ll recommend it for anybody who thinks they’re up for the challenge. At $200 an hour for a one on one with someone who really knows her stuff, I’d do it.
