What an exciting announcement!
Rachel Brice, one of the most widely and absolutely loved and respected dancers from the tribal fusion realm of belly dance is going to be putting her studio –Datura– online.
I’m so excited! When Rachel moved from the Bay area of California to Portland I was disappointed, thinking “well now I’ll never get a chance to have a class with her”.
She opened her studio, Datura, shortly thereafter. I’ve been to Portland, it’s a cool town, but I have no idea when I’ll get up that way ever again.
I have a good resource I can recommend for online pole dance, but there just hasn’t been one for belly dance. I’ve not been really happy with what I’ve found on YouTube either.
Oh well.
Until this announcement. Well, online is the future for all kinds of instruction and I can’t think of a better teacher than Rachel to lead the way.
So this announcement, for me, is huge. Finally, there is going to be a real option for those of you who want to study with someone truly amazing.
According to the website, Datura Online opens “Summer 2012”.
Well it’s the last week of June right now!

Imagine my surprise to find anethor Bellymonster is cyberspace! While I am not diabetic, I had diabetes during my first (but oddly, not my second) pregnancy and so am aware that I am at risk of developing diabetes.I so admire your candour and have recently begun making changes to my eating habits and working out. It’s MUCH harder than I’d imagined and I wish I’d begun many, many years and many pounds ago, but better late than never.I look forward to sharing your journey, fellow Bellymonster!

I can’t believe it’s been three months already! This is totally the future of all kinds of education. You guys have done a great job- I’ll have to do another post about it.
