I just discovered something cool. I subscribe to Yoga Journal and I saw an ad for online classes at yogisanonymous.com
Yogis Anonymous is a studio in Santa Monica that’s offering unlimited access to live-streaming classes for just $15 a month. That’s pretty cool. For the price of a drop in or a DVD, you have a month’s worth of classes. They have some free videos you can check out before you sign up.
I’ve been taking yoga at my local gym, and while there’s no replacement for in person practice with an instructor that comes around and helps you make adjustments, sometimes my work schedule interfers with getting to classes.
This seems like a good idea to sort of fill in the gaps.
I’m also a huge fan of instructional DVDs, I’ve got a whole library of them! Particularly for drilling movements in dance, DVDs can be really helpful. But I think streaming classes, especially when it’s with top notch instructors, is a great idea. I think you can get more variety and stay more engaged in whatever movement form you’re involved in.
I’d really like to see this kind of thing offered for different forms of dance. Anyways, I’m going to try it out. Let me know what you think.
